Join us on Monday, January 16 at 11am for GRACE for Veterans!
At the start of this event, volunteers will learn about the importance of veteran gravestone restoration within historically Black cemeteries, and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA) will provide a brief training on how to clean historic headstones and gravesite markers safely.
Depending on the weather, volunteers may also be invited to help remove wreaths from approximately 300 veteran graves at the Lebanon Cemetery of York, adjacent to Messiah UMC.
The VA Mobile Vet Center van will also be at the event, and then move over to the AmLegion post for outreach efforts [1-3 pm]. Veterans and volunteers are free to participate in this outreach as well.
This event will take place at Messiah United Methodist Church on Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service. Volunteers can contact NCAMLKDay@va.gov with questions.
