- About the organization | Community Progress Council (CPC) provides comprehensive, integrated services that offer resources and support for individuals and families to move toward economic self-sufficiency.
- About the event | CPC hosts a weekly class for community members called Getting Ahead.
- Volunteer responsibilities | Volunteers would provide childcare each week for the families who participate in the Getting Ahead class. Children vary in age. Dinner is provided for all volunteers.
- Volunteer schedule
- This class meets once each week, on Thursdays 5-7pm
- Location | TBD but in York City. More details about location will be shared by Stephanie Romero, Getting Ahead Coordinator, after you sign up.
- Transportation | Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation.
- Supplies | CPC will provide all supplies needed.
- Requirements | All volunteers must submit up-to-date clearances to Stephanie Romero at SRomero@yorkcpc.org. The clearances needed are listed below. Application links are included, and CPC can assist volunteers in getting them.
- Child Abuse history clearance (free)
- PA Access to Criminal History (PATCH) background check (free)
- FBI fingerprinting ($23.25)

- you are exempt from this clearance requirement IF you have had a PA mailing address for the past 10+ consecutive years
