This is a SpartanServe event. BUS WILL BE PROVIDED
- About the organization: Chrystal's Place is operated by the Northeast Neighborhood Association (NENA) in York City. Chrystal's Place features a community garden and provides food, clothing, diapers, household items, and personal care items for community members. Additionally, Chrystal's place serves as advocates, educators, and liaisons for neighborhood families. Learn more here.
- Volunteer responsibilities: Volunteers will harvest vegetables from 24 raised garden beds! Volunteers will also pull weeds and cover the plantbeds with straw to prepare them for the cold season. There may also be opportunities for volunteers to assist with the Chrystal's Place Resource Center.
- Date & time: Saturday, October 14, 9am-12:30pm
- Supplies provided: The community partner will provide all supplies that are needed for this project.
- Location & transportation:
- All students should meet on the YCP Wolf Hall Lawn at the start of this project.
- Student volunteers are required to travel to and from this project on the SpartanServe bus.
- YCP faculty, staff, and alum (only) are permitted to drive to and from this event.
