SVN Van Drivers are often the heroes of successful volunteer opportunities!
SVN Van Driver Corps volunteers MUST be van driver certified through YCP's Campus Safety Office. By serving as an SVN Van Driver Corps volunteer, you allow us to expand transportation access for SVN volunteers who cannot provide their own transportation for off-campus projects. The SVN Van Driver Corps is also part of the SVN Compass Leadership Program and is eligible for Compass Leadership Incentives.
To get certified as a YCP van driver, volunteers should...
- Register for a free, 2-hour certification courses using this link.
- Complete this driver history check form ASAP. Your driver history check must be submitted and reviewed prior to your class, or your registration will be cancelled.
- Notify us at volunteer@ycp.edu when you have received your certification.
To join the SVN Van Driver Corps user group, certified van drivers should...
- Click here to review the SVN Compass Leadership Handbook.
- Click here to join the SVN Van Driver Corps user group in the SVN portal.
- Select the SVN Van Driver Corps user group each time you submit hours on the SVN portal for driving a YCP van.
We'll reach out if we need a Certified Van Driver for an upcoming volunteer opportunity. SVN Van Drivers can submit volunteer hours on the SVN portal for any time they spending driving a YCP van for an SVN volunteer opportunity (short-term or ongoing), as well as any time they spend getting certified.
Many SVN Van Drivers also serve as Team Leaders. We encourage you to sign up to serve as a Team Leader as well! Please keep in mind that if you serve as a Van Driver and Team Leader for an SVN volunteer opportunity, you are not permitted to double the volunteer hours you submit on the SVN portal.
