Volunteer at York Fresh Food Farms (YFFF) for SpartanGreen! Volunteers will be:
- planting onions, leeks, spinach, and lettuce in both greenhouses and outside in rows
- harvesting beets, spinach, and lettuce
- spreading straw between planted rows to create walkways between the rows and help control mud and weeds
- cleaning and preparing vegetables for sale after harvest, including cleaning them in deep sinks and weighing and packaging the produce
Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and tasks described above. Please wear a Spartan Volunteer Network t-shirt if you have one from a previous event.
Volunteers must provide their own transportation to this opportunity. Please contact volunteer@ycp.edu with any transportation questions or concerns.
