Think of initiatives as buckets for different SVN projects. There are initiatives for short-term, ongoing, or flexible SVN projects. Click any of the options below to get started.
- Spark projects | Short-term, single-day projects.
- Evergreen projects | Long-term or ongoing projects.
- Flex series | Projects with flexible scheduling or multiple shift options.
signature initiatives
SVN's signature volunteer initiatives include large-scale projects that take place each year. These currently include SpartanServe, SpartanGreen, and Generations of Hope.
- SpartanServe | YCP's annual weekend of volunteer engagement, which takes place in October.
- SpartanGreen | YCP's annual day of environment-focused volunteer engagement, which takes place in April.
- Generations of Hope (GOH) | Group-based youth mentorship program at YCP, which takes place every other Wednesday afternoon during the fall and spring semesters.
remote & in-person projects
- Remote projects | Volunteer opportunities that you can do from anywhere, including virtual projects.
- In-person projects | Volunteer opportunities that are NOT virtual or remote.
clusters (tags)
SVN clusters are ways that we group projects together. Think of them as hashtags. This can help you to find the projects that make the most sense for you at any given moment!
- Recurring shifts | projects that have pre-determined, regularly occurring shifts.
- Summer | projects that take place in May, June, July, and August. Volunteers must provide their own transportation for summer projects.
