Volunteer: Become a Beverage Distribution Volunteer at The Beacon!

Purpose: The Beverage Distribution volunteer is responsible for providing clients with the
appropriate beverage during Beacon operating hours.
Duties:

Greet customers and take their ticket (they will receive one at check-in)Make the beverages necessary for distribution (coffee, lemonade, tea etc.) Training will be provided on how to use necessary equipment to make the beveragesSelect beverages from the selection that had been chosen prior to the opening of the Beacon Offer customer choice of beverage (coffee, water, lemonade, etc)Direct customers to Beverage Distribution VolunteerKeep the beverage distribution area clean and free of spillsOccasionally help keep beverages in orderAttend any relevant trainingsSeek support from staff for unusual challengesOther office duties as assigned

Purpose: The Floor Monitor volunteer is a flexible volunteer position meant to assist the Beacon Supervisor and other volunteers with tasks as needed, and will otherwise walk around or sit and talk with clients in order to build relationships and meet needs. 
Duties:

Provide support to Beacon participants.Assist in setting up the provider table and restroom attendant table.Monitor participant activities and alert Beacon Supervisor of any concerns.Clean and organize the main seating area including wiping tables, sweeping, and mopping floors.Fill in for other volunteers as needed at other volunteer stations such as: snack distribution, drink distribution, mail distribution, bathroom monitoring, and signing people in to the Beacon.Provide friendly and accurate responses to client questions.Attend any relevant training.Seek support from staff for unusual challenges.Other duties as assigned.

Sign clients up for the restroom by recording their name on the sign in sheet.Calling for clients when it is their turn to use the restroom.Recording what time the clients enter the restroom.Recording what time the clients leave the restroom.Monitor restroom usage and promptly alert the Beacon Supervisor if any client remains in the restroom for an extended period.Ensure cleanliness of restrooms and replenish supplies as required.Organize and store restroom supplies appropriately after use.
