This position requires some travel to patient homes and nursing home facilities to play music one on one to our patients. Gentiva Hospice has an opportunity available to spend some much needed time with our patients who enjoy doing recreational activities such as going outside when it's nice, playing cards, doing puzzles, word searches, listening to music, taking to programs, etc. We often underestimate the power of a listening ear, a friendly touch, and a comforting voice. Do you enjoy reading a good story? Have a favorite novel? We have an opening for a volunteer to join our team as a reading companion. You will see new patients on a regular basis who enjoy the company of others and love listening to a good story. Short stories will be provided to you or you can offer to bring your own favorite reading materials to patients. There's nothing better than curling up to a good book and cup of coffee with a friend. Looking for dedicated, faithful individuals for this position. Being a full time caregiver is tough. If you or someone you know has recently gone through the process of caring for an elder full time, you know how physically and emotionally straining it can be. Here at Gentiva Hospice, we have volunteers who can help with caregiver relief. This means trained volunteers go out and sit with patients so family members can get out of the house, run errands, and have time to themselves. If you would be interested in helping to serve our elder population by volunteering a few hours per month to help a caregiver in need, please contact Sarah Long, sarah.long@gentivahs.com. We look forward to having you on our team!

Do you enjoy getting to know others? Their personal story and history? If so, Gentiva Hospice has an opportunity for you! We're on a mission to honor the lives of our patients by sharing their stories and giving families these stories as a keep sake. We are in need of companionship volunteers to see patients on a regular basis and assist them with filling out memory booklets. Gentiva Hospice has an opportunity open to be part of our administrative team! This position involves simple administrative tasks such as, but not limited to: filing, cutting, experience with word, creating simple notes/cards, coming up with creative ideas, and experience with craft projects is a must! Some tasks can be done at home if you have access to a computer and printer. This position will lead the way for special office projects and create involvement throughout the process.
