Getting started: Food & clothing pantry volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks. To get started, please contact the York City Northeast Neighborhood Association (NENA York) to share your volunteer availability and interests, and to get connected with a short-term or ongoing volunteer shift! Food & Clothing Pantry Volunteer Opportunities: Clothing Pantry Assistants: Assist families on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. to sort clothing donations and stock clothing area. Requires ability to climb stairs. Some moderate lifting required. Other times available by mutual agreement. Food Pantry Assistants: Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Must be able to lift and navigate stairs. Bread pick-ups: Tuesday evenings at the East York Panera or Wednesday mornings at the White Street Weis. Moderate lifting required. Drivers: Individuals with trucks or large automobiles needed a few times per month to haul food and large household items. Weekday and weekend times available. Ability to lift optional, since other volunteers can assist with lifting. Food Deliveries: Day and time varies. Assistants needed to load and unload bulk groceries and large household items.
