Join the Northeast Neighborhood Association and make an impact in your community! Volunteers are needed to assist with food pantry operations. Tasks might include being able to lift and navigate stairs.

Pick up donated bread and bakery items from local stores and deliver them to the pantry on Tuesday evenings and the East York Panera, and Wednesday mornings at the White Street Weis. 

Moderate lifting required.

Assist families on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. to sort clothing donations and stock clothing area.  Requires ability to climb stairs. Some moderate lifting required. Other times available by mutual agreement.

Direct Care volunteers work side-by-side with our Care Staff, providing comfort and support to our residents and their families. This is a perfect opportunity for volunteers, especially healthcare professionals, looking to make a difference with direct care of our residents. Please note: this volunteer opportunity requires additional upfront and annual training, as well as bigger monthly time commitment.

4 hr Shifts: Daily 9am – 1pm; 1pm – 5pm; 5pm – 9pm

Social Activity volunteers provide social interaction with residents and possibly family members in the form of conversation, sitting with residents at meal time, playing cards or board games, reading aloud, doing crafts, and engaging in other activities. Sharing your musical talents by singing or playing an instrument, whether a “concert” or “sing-along.” Writing letters… and just listening or sitting quietly as needed. If any of this interaction is something that you enjoy, we’d love to have you.

1 hr Shifts: Daily 10am – 11am; 11am – 12pm; 12pm – 1pm; 1pm – 2pm; 2pm – 3pm; 3pm – 4pm

Come join us and be a part of the team! Our volunteers usher at our shows, serve concessions, give guided tours to groups, sell tickets in the box office or at the window during shows, stuff envelopes, and the list goes on and on!

Martin Library circulates over 150,00 books a year. Someone needs to check them in, sort and reshelve. Can you be that someone - or at least one of the team? Schedule can be work around your availability.

Barn work volunteers assist with several daily tasks including, but not limited to, feeding animals, turning horses in and out, basic animal care, cleaning stalls, sweeping floors, wiping structural surfaces, scrubbing buckets and using a wheelbarrow.

Morning shift is 8:00-11:00am. Afternoon shift is 4-7pm.

Equine therapy volunteers assist with therapeutic riding lessons, summer camps, schools groups and horse show team. Equine Department volunteers should be able to walk/jog for 30 minutes and lift items weighing more than 25 pounds.

Help amplify Chasing the Rainbows’ mission online! Volunteers will assist with social media content creation, website updates, and marketing campaigns using platforms like Canva, AI tools, and other marketing software. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to develop digital marketing, graphic design, and communications skills while spreading awareness for a nonprofit that impacts families in need.

Calling all sorority, fraternity, and college chapter members! Be a key liaison between Chasing the Rainbows and campus organizations to help spread awareness, recruit volunteers, and organize fundraising or service events. This role gives you the chance to build leadership skills, coordinate events, and make a real impact for families navigating pregnancy and infant loss.

Volunteers in this role will:

Connect with Greek life and other student organizations to promote events and volunteer opportunities.

Help organize campus-based awareness campaigns, fundraisers, or service projects.

Build relationships with chapter leaders and national organizations to grow Chasing the Rainbows’ student network.

Gain hands-on experience in outreach, communications, and nonprofit leadership while boosting your résumé.

Hello prospective volunteers!

We are the Barshinger Creek Preservation Alliance, and we exist to advocate for the property at 150 Country Club Road in Red Lion, PA.

A grassroots, community driven organization, we fought off property developers and now we are interested in conserving the 58-acres of beautiful, natural wetland in our community.  Our mission is solid and we are currently in the process of getting the property appraised in hopes of purchasing it so that we can have an outdoor classrom/green space for all of York County to learn from and enjoy!

Prospect Hill Cemetery (PHC) was loaned burial records from Strack Funeral Home. Strack FH owned several lots at PHC. We are working to document all the burials for PHC and Potter's Field in a spreadsheet and then cross-referencing with the records to try and give names to those buried on the Strack lots labeled, "buried no marker". If you're interested in assisting with this project, please respond to this opportunity and share your availability in the "response notes". Volunteer scheduling is flexible between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm.
