About Pershing Street Community Garden: Pershing Street Community Garden is a small, neighborhood-supported garden in downtown York. It is managed by York Fresh Food Farms - Community Gardens.
- Location: 516 North Pershing Avenue, York, PA (located across the street from the Jefferson Center/ Head Start school building)
- Date & Time: Saturday, August 26, 8am-11:00am
- Volunteer responsibilities: Volunteers will help to build some wooden beds in an already existing garden environment. Volunteers will also move bags of soil, pull down big wisteria vines, and scrub a concrete wall to prep it for a mural. This is a partnership project that includes volunteers from York College and from the Rotary Club of York.
- Volunteer requirements:
- Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes.
- Volunteers are required to complete a waiver. This waiver will be available to review and sign on the day of the project.
- Volunteer transportation: Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation for this event.
