- About Martin Library: As a branch of York County Libraries, Martin Library's Mission and Vision is to strengthen the York County community and to enrich individual lives. Located at the corner of Market and Queen Streets since 1935, this city landmark has three levels of collection, program, and gathering spaces. Here, you can find the largest collection of books in York County, research expertise, over 35 computers, and learning experiences for all ages. Stop by, enjoy the experience, and create new possibilities at Martin Library!
- About First Fridays: First Friday is a monthly celebration of Downtown York, PA shops, restaurants, cultural venues and nightlife hot spots. First Fridays at Martin Library are planned by library staff to be two hours of family fun, with a variety of activities (some educational, some for play) to reach the different age groups that attend. Each First Friday has a different theme and different programming.
- Our goal is for the library to be visible during this community event and to be seen as an integral part of downtown York.
- Our goal for the programming is to serve the needs of the different age groups and to promote our resources and PA literacies.
