About Big Brothers Big Sisters: For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has believed that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
About Being a Big: BBBS volunteers will...
- Meet with your Little Brother/Little Sister 2-4 times a month
- Spend 2-3 hours together each time you meet
- Participate in community activities, such as going to the park, visiting the library, or attending local events
- Go to Big Brothers Big Sisters' events with other matches, including bowling, roller skating, and holiday parties
