Volunteer: Volunteers needed for Women's Tea event! (3/21/2026)

We would like to invite YCP volunteers to support a meaningful community event hosted by PA State Representative Carol Hill-Evans — her annual Women’s Tea — on March 21 in York, PA.

Our Cooking Up Connection youth chefs will be preparing refreshments for the event, and volunteers will have the opportunity to support both the preparation and event experience.

Volunteer Details:

Date: March 21, 2026Start Time: 7:00 AM (CCE Kitchen – preparation)Event Location: St. Matthew’s Church, 839 W. Market St, York, PAEvent Role: Volunteers will begin at the CCE kitchen assisting with food preparation, organization, and packing, then travel with our team to St. Matthew’s Church to assist with setup, service support, and event coordination.

Volunteer Roles May Include:

Assisting youth chefs with preparation and kitchen organizationSupporting packing and transport of food and suppliesHelping with event setup and presentationServing support and general event assistanceCapturing photos or videos of youth in action (if interested)

Skills Volunteers Will Gain:

Teamwork and collaborationEvent coordination and logisticsCulinary support and kitchen operationsLeadership and adaptabilityCommunity engagement and youth mentorship

This is a powerful opportunity to support young people as they step into leadership roles and serve elected officials and community members. Volunteers will witness firsthand how youth empowerment, responsibility, and confidence grow through real-world experiences.

Created by Liz Morales of Morales Kitchen LLC, Cooking Up Connection is a culinary arts-based youth development program that uses food as a medium to build identity, community, and emotional wellness. Liz is seeking 1-2 volunteers to assist with capturing the youth participants while they are gaining experience in the kitchen. All materials will be provided. This is a great opportunity for student interested in media, storytelling, or service learning to gain hands-on experience.

When: Thursdays from 4:00-6:00PM

Where: Gunter-Smith Center for Community Engagement, 59 E Market Street, York, PA 17401

Transportation: Volunteers must provide their own transportation for this opportunity. Parking is available.
