Volunteer to help maintain a community garden in Salem Square! This opportunity may include trash cleanup, weeding, and other tasks as needed. The Spartan Volunteer Network will provide gardening gloves and trash bags.

About the camp: Camp Cann-Edi-On is nestled in the horseshoe of the Conewago Creek and is part of the long tradition of camping at YWCA York. The Camp Cann-Edi-On program provides an opportunity to connect with friends and make new ones while enjoying the benefits of the outdoors! Learn more here.  Volunteer responsibilities: Get ready to roll up your sleeves! The clean-up includes cleaning our recreation hall, cafeteria, and bathrooms, as well as litter pick up around the camp grounds, and minor landscaping work. If there is heavy rain during this project, volunteers will complete indoor volunteer needs. Date & time: Saturday, 10/18, from 9 am-12:00pm (including travel time) Supplies provided: The community partner will provide all supplies that are needed for this project. While the families are waiting we have stations throughout the Children's Room with crafts and activities for the children and their families. We need help preparing the crafts we will be presenting. Join Glenn Hope Care Farm in repairing the riparian buffer by planting trees for the 10 million trees initiative! This opportunity will include digging holes to put seedlings in. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for walking in the forest and planting trees. Protective eyewear is recommended. All tools will be provided by the community partner. The Spartan Volunteer Network will provide gloves.
