Who We Are

Virtual Visit Volunteers:

Conversations to Remember is a nonprofit organization dedicated to older adults struggling with social isolation. Our virtual visit volunteers are young adults who participate in weekly video visits with older adults to build intergenerational relationships. Each week, they return to meet with the same older adult to share stories about what is going on in their lives. We're looking for outgoing, chatty volunteers who can commit to one hour visits each week on the same day and time, for a minimum of 16 weeks. The goal of these visits is to create intergenerational relationships between senior citizens and young college students.

What We Do

Virtual visits are visits that take place between people in different locations, and are facilitated by our technology. Our virtual visits are done using video calls through a computer or other suitable device with a camera, microphone, and display. They can take place anywhere there is access to the Internet. Our video calls typically involve one older adult and three students, with the goal of developing intergenerational friendships. All of our students are trained, and then evaluated to confirm they are best suited for this method of forming meaningful relationships.
