Who We Are

Founded in 2015, The Movement of York helps connect people to the resources they seek. The Movement began as a podcast and later started to go live on front porches, talking to people in the neighborhood and local artists about their hardships. It takes a village for such a community-driven concept to thrive. In the eyes of The Movement, the community has a way of making known the issues and hardships burdening it.

What We Do

East End Food Pantry: While many nonprofits in the City of York are working to earn the trust of the community, The Movement was born out of the community and trust is inherent within. Our approach to food and goods distribution empowers individuals to gain access to the resources they need through a trauma-informed approach.

Facebook Group: From baby clothes to food, multiple posts each day are either giving people the opportunity to give back to the community or guiding them to aid when they fall on hard times. Our Facebook group of more than 13,500 individuals provides a platform to share information and help one another.
