Who We Are
The Watershed Alliance of York (WAY) is a local non-profit organization with the mission to improve York County's waters making them cleaner and healthier for all. We were founded in 2001 but had a rebranding in 2020 that's helped the organization find it's momentum again. Our vision is a robust community thriving in healthy watersheds in York County!
What We Do
WAY's mission is to improve York County's water, making it cleaner and healthier for all.
WAY has 3 committees and a Board of Directors, everyone is a volunteer except for 1 staff. The organization receives grants to directly work with and assist landowners in implementing water quality projects on their land. We also plant a lot of trees and pick up a lot of trash. Each September, we host our week long event called Watershed Week where we aim to get the community out and about in our watersheds! We work with many other great organizations locally to be successful at implementing projects, protecting, enhancing, and restoring our watersheds.
